A slight pause, before moving forward again.
It’s natural to need a break after such a hectic few weeks preparing, hanging, and generally supporting the current exhibition. I am still thinking about the 3 quilts currently on the go, but haven’t got round to working on them yet. Instead I’ve been fiddling about with making clothes and painting in sketchbooks. I just wanted to create something with no pressure about the outcome; here’s some satsumas. Acrylic on paper, unfinished.
A silver bowl, some oranges, and a blue jug.
I’ve also been doing some marketing for the exhibition, and writing bits for newspapers, magazines, local societies, and all sorts about my work for anyone interested! It was a steep learning curve to produce a power point presentation on the Memonto Mori series with a voice over - only to discover that after spending a couple of hours on it, my new computer didn’t have a built in microphone like the last computer did, and I’d recorded absolutely nothing!! Ack well. I’ll give it another go when I’ve resolved that and will post the results here.
